Ask the Expert- Applications and Types of the Temperature Sensors

As a part of our custom we are back here, this time with the different type of sensor, after describing Working Principle and Applications of Oval Gear Flow Meter in our last blog to our readers. Today, we would introduce Applications and types of Temperature Sensors.
Let's discuss this amazing sensor in depth.
What do mean by Temperature Sensor?
The temperature sensor is a device used to measure hotness and coolness of the fluid.  Basically, it measures temperature with the help of different measurement scales like Celsius scale and Rankin scale which uses Fahrenheit temperature sensing.
The working of a sensor depends on the Voltage that is scanned on the Diodes.  The temperature is directly proportional to the voltage; it rises with the rise in the voltage and falls down along with it. The sensor measures the difference between the emitter and transistor. Further, this difference is amplified and analog signals are generated by the temperature sensor.

There are two types of temperature sensors that are used in different Industries.
  1. RTD Temperature Sensor:
Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD) Sensors are specifically used for measuring temperature. Generally, it consists of lengthy wire wrapped across ceramic or glass core but it may also have other construction features according to the requirements.
Applications:
  • Air conditioning and refrigeration servicing
  • Food Processing
  • Stoves and grills
  • Textile production
  • Plastics processing
  • Petrochemical processing
  • Micro-electronics
  • Air, gas and liquid temperature measurement
  • Exhaust gas temperature measurement
  1. Thermocouple temperature sensor:
It’s most simple and cost-effective temperature sensor. It consists of two different wires attached to its one end. When it is operated properly it gives accurate temperature measurement.
Applications:
  • Earth Moving Equipment
  • mines and mineral Equipment
  • ship and boat
  • Marine industries
  • Process Industry
  • Petroleum Industry
  • Oil
  • Automobile vehicle
Hence, this is how temperature sensors are utilized under the shade of different manufacturing industries. To get more information about Sensors you can visit our website www.broiltech.com.
